Athletic Scores and Updates - Week of November 13
Posted 11/14/2017 09:00AM

"The Show" (JVD hockey) opened the season with an uplifting 1-11 "victory" against a much more seasoned team from Spalding on Thursday afternoon. Seven SP students played the first hockey game of their lives Thursday. Both Loki Baum and Davis Thropp shared time as goalie and made many spectacular saves. Mitchell Daugherty converted a breakaway goal early in the 3rd period (and almost pulled off a classic "cele" until he crashed into the boards). There were numerous genuine congratulatory remarks made by both opposing teams toward their worthy opponent and smiles all around after the game. The Show's next game is on December 4th vs. Curley at Ice World.

Congrats to Jordan Steinbach '18 for being awarded the Maryland State Golf Association's David King Scholarship.

Jordan Steinbach '18 is very involved in activities both in and out of school. He is on the varsity soccer and track and field teams, a section leader for the school's chorus, a leader of the Japan Club, a member of the debate club, and an Honor Roll student as well as making the Headmasters list. Outside of school, he volunteers at the Festival of Trees each winter and volunteers at the local animal shelter, as well as caddying for Baltimore Country Club. He plans to pursue a degree in chemical engineering.
