Ron Klausner | profile
Ron, originally from New York moved to Maryland in 1984 to attend Towson University on a Lacrosse Scholarship. As a three year starter, Coach Klausner would garner All-ECC First Team honors twice, and received All-American recognition as a senior. Voted Most Improved player in 1986, and Most Outstanding Player in 1988, Coach Klausner graduated from Towson in 1989. As a 4th round pick in the MILL/NLL for the Baltimore Thunder, Ron would enjoy a 8 year professional lacrosse career playing for Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse in the NLL. As a field player, Coach Klausner played 22 years for the prestigious Mt. Washington Lacrosse Club winning 3 national titles. In 1993 and 1997, Coach Klausner was a Team USA tryout participant and was included in the alternate pool for the National team. Inducted into the Towson Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999, and Long Island Metro Hall of Fame in 2017, Coach Klausner remains active in coaching lacrosse in the Baltimore region.
As a Basketball player, Coach Ron led his High School (Wantagh NY) team to the quarter finals as a senior while leading his team in assists and playing two years as a Varsity point guard. Though recruited for Basketball, Coach Klausner decided to play Lacrosse in college which led him to come to Baltimore. After College, Ron has been a coach for Basketball in the Carroll Manor program for 7 years, and has played in many leagues over the past three decades in the area. Rick Matthews | profile
Rick has been a Physical Education teacher at the Friends School in Baltimore, where he also served as a Middle School Admissions counselor. Rick coached Varsity Lacrosse, Wrestling and Golf and Middle School Football. Prior to Friends, he was the Head Lacrosse coach at Seton Hill University and Assistant Lacrosse coach at Washington and Lee University and Limestone College.
