Jake has been the Director of College Counseling at St. Paul’s since 2005 and coaches soccer. A regular presenter at regional and national conferences, Jake is a leader in the field and was recently elected to the Presidential Cycle (2017-2019) of Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling (PCACAC), a professional organization with more than 800 members. In the past, he has also served as Chairperson of the AIMS College Counselor group (2007 – 2011), and held many offices within PCACAC including: Co-Chaired Professional Development (2008-2011), National Delegate (2010-2012), Vice-chair/Chaired of Admission Practices Committee (2011–2016, 2016-2017) and Secretary of PCACAC (2013-2015). Prior to joining St. Paul’s, Jake was the Associate Director of College Counseling at Pine Crest School in Florida for five years, Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at Johns Hopkins University for five years and Assistant Director of Admission at University of Vermont for three years. He is a graduate of the Salisbury School (an Episcopal, all-boys boarding school in Connecticut), the College of William and Mary (B.B.A.) and the University of Vermont (M.P.A.). An avid fisherman (particularly fly fishing), golfer and gardener, Jake also enjoys traveling with his wife and two children who attend St. Paul’s and St. Paul's School for Girls.
