Event Recap:

On a frigid Tuesday night in the Patterson Igloo, JV puck laced up for our long-awaited grudge match with Mt. Saint Joseph. Coming off an eight goal road loss to the Gaels last week, the ‘Saders had some unfinished business to attend to as our season winds to its end. Standing on his head between the pipes was none other than Braeden Llewelleyn, who would eventually set an (unconfirmed) MIAA record of 54 saves on the night. His protégé and backup tender, Davis Wille, would step up big for the team by volunteering to suit up at defense. His skating ability was tested late in the first. Exhausted as the rest of the boys on our short roster, Wille nearly begged the official for a interference call that would leave the team down a goal at the end of one. The Gaels were able to snipe two more through traffic over the course of the second, leaving us in a three-nil hole going into the final period of competition. Thin in numbers and depleted of energy, we would struggle to keep pace with the playoff-bound MSJ squad in the third. Bryan Sharps and Cooper Goetze spearheaded a campaign to rally the troops, leaving all their blood, sweat, and tears on the frozen arctic tundra. Grant Talbot complimented their efforts by playing a solid, physical period of hockey, laying clean lumber on a number of unsuspecting Gaels. Blake Vogel, Chase Popel, Henry Hill, Zach Walker, and Noah Pavo played through the pain all game long, attempting to keep us afloat amidst the barrage of hose water blasting in our faces. The end result was a nine-zip L for the ‘Saders out of Brooklandville, MD.
