|Basketball - MS Blue Crossroads School (Fells Point)|
|Date:||December 10, 2019|
The St. Paul’s Blue Basketball Team took on the Crossroads School in its first game of the season. Coming off a season opening win at McDonogh last week, the Crusaders hoped to keep the positive momentum going forward. Sure enough, St. Paul’s got off to a quick start with The Matthews Brothers (Quinn and Bryce) connecting for a layup just seconds after the opening tip. Using a tenacious 1-3-1 press, St. Paul’s jumped out to a sizeable lead early in the first quarter. Ernest Willor effectively patrolled the high post while Ryan Nelson’s on-ball defensive pressure threw the visitors off balance from the get-go. St. Paul’s kept the pressure on during the second quarter with Luke Bair and Andrew Cooper providing effective leadership from the guard positions. Landon Blue hustled all over the court and led the Crusies with multiple dives to the floor. In the second half, Khalil Taylor and Iain Kennedy effectively penetrated the Crossroads zone while CJ Brock and Michael Richter crashed the boards with abandon. Ire Olasupo-Ojo provided effective court spacing while Tyler McGill paced St. Paul’s with 7 rebounds.
In the end, St. Paul’s dominated both halves and emerged with a 59-12 victory.
