Basketball - Fresh/Soph
vs. Key School
|Date:||December 10, 2019|
The Fresh/Soph team finally got a chance to play its first game of the season on Tuesday in Pollock Gymnasium when they took on The Key School’s Fresh/Soph team. Thomas Magnusson won the opening tip to Max Rottinghaus who passed to Brody Atkinson for a layup and a 2 – 0 lead in the first three seconds. Then the Crusaders went to work pressing the visitors into mistakes and easy chances for SPS. SPS would out rebound the visitors 15 to 9 in the first half that ended in the Crusaders favor 32 – 11. In the second half, every Crusader logged some minutes and it was just a matter of getting to the finish. Seven different players scored in this game but there was plenty of good passing to go around as the players were unselfish with the ball. Colin Hook, Matthew Marino, Michael Smyth, and Aiden Gould all joined Thomas, Brody, and Max in the scoring column.
Unfortunately, the team won’t play again until next year when they travel to East Baltimore, to take on Archbishop Curley, Wednesday, January 8th. The team played well today, so please feel free to congratulate them when you see them around campus
