Basketball - Varsity
vs. Chapelgate Christian Academy
|Date:||January 23, 2019|
St. Paul’s started off slow at Chapelgate on Wednesday but still managed to carry a one point lead into halftime. The visiting Crusaders caught fire during the second half to take a 12 point lead into the final quarter and go on to win by a score of 70-46. It was the best half of offensive basketball the team has played all year, as the boys in blue received contributions from 12 different players. Ziggy Reid led the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds to notch yet another double. Fellow senior troy Barthelme did an amazing job orchestrating the offensive by passing out of double teams to find an open friend on the weak side of the floor, tallying eight assists to go with his 10 points. More often then not, Barthleme’s passes found an open teammate who would make an extra pass to get someone else a great shot. The Crusader’s ball movement was incredible throughout the game and lead to many open shots that were calmly knocked down. St. Paul’s remains in sole possession of second place in the MIAA B conference, trailing Gerstell by just one game.
