Soccer - JV
|Date:||October 25, 2019|
On a glorious fall Friday afternoon, the JV Soccer Crusaders closed out their season with a rousing 2-1 victory over a hearty pack of visiting McDonogh Eagles. Every single player both played and contributed to the win, highlighted by Aiden Gould’s always-steady play in the back, as well as huge goals from sophomore Owen Hayes and classmate Trey Wyatt – after junior captain Pierre Roger-Dalbert drew a well-earned penalty midway through the second frame. In the final minutes, the opposition threw everything they had at the Crusader back line, but the hosts held firm for a thrilling “W.” The team fell short of a playoff run, but season highlights were aplenty - including the first sweep of McDonogh in recent history, an overtime road win over John Carroll, and an exciting scoreless draw with league-leading Mt. St. Joe’s. The players and coaches would like to thank the parents and Athletic support staff for their tireless encouragement and aid – and just wait ‘till next year!
