Soccer - MS Blue
vs. Boys' Latin
|Date:||October 30, 2019|
Blue soccer traveled to BL yesterday and lost 0-2. It was a tough game but the boys fought hard to the end. A goal late in the first half off of a corner kick got the momentum rolling for BL and St. Paul’s, despite solid efforts all over the pitch, couldn’t quite recover.
Several players deserve mention. Matthew Sola put in an excellent game in the center of the field, time and again deftly maneuvering the ball around the BL players. CJ Henry fought hard up top before suffering a head injury that sidelined him for the game. This took the wind out of the sails and his presence was missed on the field. Eighth-grader Ross Dildine worked tirelessly up top and haunted the BL defenders. He threw himself into every fifty-fifty challenge and gave his all to each.
It was a tough loss for the boys in gold, but they have a chance to turn it around and end the season on a good note. Blue soccer concludes their season next week with away games against Concordia Prep and Friends. Come out and support if you can. St. Paul’s won’t be down for long
