  • TOMORROW, March 7, 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Commons: Mother/Daughter Blingo/Bingo: Still Time to Get a Ticket!
     
    Don't miss a fun Saturday afternoon of Blingo Bingo with your daughter! Join other mothers and daughters for this fun annual event. A few of the fabulous prizes include Lilly Pulitzer, a Keurig coffee machine, spa treatments and more! The theme for the grade 10 bingo basket is "Resolution Keeper." The basket will contain items pertaining to health and fitness such as a Fitbit tracker, four-piece yoga set, 30lb exercise ball, resistance bands, Lulu Lemon headbands, water bottles and more!

  • Tuesday, March 10, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in The Ward Center for the Art, Mandatory Grade 10 Event: Distracted Driving & Legal Consequences
    SPSG and SP are pleased to offer a Distracted Driving & Legal Consequences presentation for parents and students next Tuesday, March 10, in The Ward Center  for the Arts from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Hear from State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger and representatives from the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center about smart decision making and the consequences of drunk, impaired, or distracted driving. SP alumnus and trauma survivor Kyle Gimbel '05 will also share his personal experience. This program is mandatory for all 10th grade students and their parents (at least one parent/guardian should attend).
     
  • Tuesday, April 7, 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the Commons: Curriculum Meeting for Parents of Rising Juniors and Seniors
    Learn more about opportunities offered by SPSG's curriculum and academic programs as your daughter progresses through upper school. Join Christine Szala, Upper School Head, Janet Wolfe, Associate Head for Academics, Melissa Brooks '03 and Liz Lightfoot, Co-Directors of College Counseling, along with other SPSG administrators and department chairs for this presentation designed to help you work with your daughter as she plans her curriculum for the junior and senior year.
     
  • Saturday, April 18, 7:30-10:00 p.m. in the Commons: Freshman/Sophomore Formal, "Under the Stars"
    Students may bring guests as long as they have a valid ID and they pay for a ticket. The tickets are $10 if purchased in advance, and $15 at the door. Advance tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 24, for which class treasurers will be in charge.

SCHOOL NEWS 

  • Wednesday, March 25, in The Ward Center: Literary Week Begins with Slam Poet Gayle Danley
    During assembly block, Gayle Danley (MET Writer in Residence) will be conducting poetry workshops for the upper school in The Ward Center Theater. Gayle Danley is an internationally known Slam poet who has published three books about her experience in this medium.

    UPCOMING EVENTS

    • Saturday, April 24, 7:30 p.m. on Alumni Field: Joint SPSG & SP Upper School Outdoor Movie Night
      The PA and SGA are sponsoring this event for all SP and SPSG Upper School students. The movie selection for the evening will be Guardians of the Galaxy. The SGA will begin selling concessions at 7:30 p.m. and the movie will begin at 8:00 p.m. Parent chaperones are needed. Please contact Scott Sweeney, the PA President, at Scott.Sweeney@cbsradio.com if you would like to volunteer as a chaperone for this event.

    SUMMER AT SPSG

    • Summer Camps at SPSG
      Online Summer Camp registration is now open. Visit www.spsfg.org/summer for all the information.
      • Offerings include:
        The Dance Conservatory
         (June-August, coed, ages 3-18, 1/2 and full day options)
        Driver's Education (June and July, coed, must be 15 to register)
        Babysitter's Training (July, coed, ages 11-15)
        Gatorland Day Camp (July-August, coed, rising 1st-8th grade)
    • Summer Driver's Ed Registration 
      Sessions will be held in June and July. Cost per session is $415.00 which includes 10 classes and six hours of drive time with an instructor. Please click here if you would like to register. Students from other schools are welcome to attend. The session dates are:

        • Monday, June 15-Friday, June 26 from 9:00 a.m.-Noon 
      • Session II:
        • Monday, July 20-Friday, July 31 from 9:00 a.m.-Noon

      While you are visiting The Ward Center, remember to check out the Middle School Art Show, on display now through March 27. this year's theme is "Iconic Baltimore".

    • Saturday, March 14, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in The Ward Center, Behind the Stage: Saturday Tech Day! Build/Paint/Pizza
      On Saturday, March 14, The Ward Center Theater invites you to join us for our second community build-day for our spring production of Blithe Spirit. We will be building set pieces, painting, altering costumes and generally just working on the technical side of the production. There will be pizza provided for lunch. This is open to all members of the St. Paul's community and friends. It's the perfect chance to get involved in the arts, get your name in the program and see how a show gets put together! Email Sarah Watson, Resident Designer/Scene Shop Manager, if you are interested in joining us for all or part of the day.

    ATHLETICS:

    • Athletic Spring Break Updates
      • Upper School badminton, golf, softball, club lacrosse and track & field will not practice or play games over spring break.
      • The varsity lacrosse team will be off from Saturday, March 14 until Tuesday, March 17. The team will return to practice on Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m.
      • Varsity softball and varsity/JV lacrosse have games scheduled for Friday, March 13 at home. 
      • The JV lacrosse team will be off from Saturday, March 14 until Friday, March 20. The team will return to practice on Monday, March 23.

    PARENTS' ASSOCIATION NEWS

      This event will take place in the SPSG Commons from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Registration for this event is now closed, but mothers, daughters and special friends are still welcome to come! Tickets are $15 at the door.
       
    • March 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in The Ward Center: Joint International Block Party
      The Parents’ Associations of SPSG and SP invites you to share more about your individual heritage! Prepare a dish, wear traditional garb, demonstrate traditional music or dance, and help us celebrate the incredible diversities of nationalities within our school communities! Click here to sign up.

We are looking for parent volunteers interested in serving on the International Block Party Committee with Jill and/or parents interested in helping on the day of the event.
