Welcome from the Arts Department
At St. Paul's, our faculty of dedicated arts educators believe that all students from Kindergarten to twelfth grade have the potential to express themselves creatively. The mission of the department is to foster and nurture each student's artistic potential and to help build the requisite tools to be successful. It is also our goal to cultivate an understanding and love of music, woodworking, theater, and visual art by providing a positive environment in which the student and teacher can explore the creative process. The final step is the sharing of the artistic experience with our school community, our families, and the public - this happens during chapel services, seasonal concerts, on the stage, on local and overseas tours, in recitals, in gallery art displays, and right here on our website. We also take field trips and bring in guest artists to connect our students with professional artistic experiences not generated on campus. The St. Paul's Arts Department, working in coordination with St. Paul's School for Girls, offers sequential curriculum in Visual and Manual Arts, Music, Dance, and Theater. This includes IB and AP course opportunities. Private vocal and instrumental lessons are available after school at The Ward Center for the Arts.
