Funded almost entirely by private donations, with a full-time staff of 175 and 120,000 members, CBF focuses its efforts on helping citizens understand the connection between their actions on the land and the health of the environment, and empowering stakeholders to engage in activities that will improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay.

Both the Earth911 site and 1-800-CLEANUP toll-free hotline are provided at no cost to the user or taxpayer. Earth911 centralizes information and resources into a single user-friendly, neutral and non-governmental network.
  • www.eere.energy.gov/greenpower  - The Green Power Network (GPN) provides news and information on green power markets and related activities. The site provides up-to-date information on green power providers, product offerings, consumer protection issues, and policies affecting green power markets. It also includes a reference library of relevant papers, articles and reports. The Green Power Network is operated and maintained by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy.
  • www.energystar.gov - A joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
  • www.green-e.org  - Green-e is the nation's leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reductions in the retail market. It has three certification programs: Green-e Climate is a voluntary certification program launched in 2007 that sets consumer-protection and environmental-integrity standards for greenhouse gas(GHG) emission reductions sold in the voluntary market. Green-e Energy is the nation's leading independent certification and verification program for renewable energy. Green-e Marketplace is a program that allows companies to display the logo when they have purchased a qualifying amount of renewable energy and passed our verification standards.
  • www.jonesfalls.org - The Jones Falls Watershed Association is dedicated to protecting and restoring the health and beauty of the Jones Falls Watershed which feeds the Chesapeake Bay. Through restoration, monitoring, advocacy and citizen awareness, the JFWA is credited with focusing attention on the Jones Falls and its tributaries as natural resource assets for the community.

    www.nationalgeographic.com National Geographic Society has been inspiring people to care about the planet since 1888. One of the largest non-profit scientific and educational institutions in the world, the website is an endless resource for children and adults.
  • www.subtractions.net - Subtractions Computer Recycling located in Laurel MD. They recycle old monitors, CPUs, printers, and keyboards. No charge to recycle computer equipment, but there are fees for floor-copiers and televisions.
