September 2014 Meeting

Welcome from Headmaster Dave Faus – thanked parents for coming and for the work you'll do this year. Grade parents are a lifeline to parents. PA offers the School community builders. Power of word of mouth – our best marketing is each individual story .New families often have spoken with current parents. Door is always open.


Introductions of everyone

Positions needing to be filled

Fundraising chair – facilitate organizing those already in the works

Angel Committee – started to assist any family in need-organizing

Looking ahead to next year – holiday bazaar treasurer and coordinator

Field Day

Plan to request to have a space on the school website for volunteer/position needs.Will send link in grade parent e-mails.

Fallapalooza – joint event3p-10p 10/17

2 games – girls varsity followed by boys varsity soccer – need volunteers

Looking for core group who will be there all day. 9th grade bake sale 10th drinks 11th taco in a bag 12th chick-fil-a

38-48 volunteers-to oversee kids, direct people

t-shirt contest to design logo

Budget based on dues collected per family $75 - $35 goes to yearbook – PA only gets $40

Some fundraising activities last year set goal at $1500

International Block Party – March 27 (Friday aftr spring break)

Old Business – budget excess - $8000 toward security upgrades to gym; scholarship 23 of 26 voted for upgrades – money went to upgrades

Will have Philanthropy come to October meeting to discuss needs of the school so we can tailor fundraising efforts for a common goal

Make A Wish - $3000 per year earmarked for needs of the 3 schools- each school is queried for needs and PA votes on which wish/wishes will be granted

Bull Roast – Alumni event – PA needs 3 auction items – looking for vacation homes, tickets, stuff

Committee Reports –

Senior class – mum sale

October 24 – autumn cheer – parent gathering at Brooklandwood – have contacted 2 caterers – flowers may be donated –paper goods may be donated – hoping to get wine at cost – need to know how to do invitation 7-10p

Nothing for SPSG liaison

Searching for assistant chaplain – Kelly Meck is the assistant

Those organizing events – all contracts have to be signed by Chris Fallon in business in school
