Program & Philosophy
At St. Paul's the arts department embraces the belief that all students from pre-first to twelfth grade have the potential to express themselves creatively. The mission of the department is to foster and nurture each student as an artist and to give each student the requisite tools to be successful. It is also our goal to cultivate an understanding and love of the performing and visual arts by providing a positive environment in which the student and teacher can appreciate and explore the creative process.
To that end, the arts department working in coordination with St. Paul's School for Girls offers courses in Visual Art, Music and Theater at all three schools, in Dance in the Lower and Upper Schools and in Manual Arts in the Middle School. The enthusiasm and commitment devoted to course work extends naturally to the abundance of performance and showcase opportunities at school, around town and on-tour abroad.
